{ Three Hundred Dollars }

How would you spend an extra $300 ?
Okay, well it really isn't an -extra- money, but that is what it would cost to get a year long membership to the gym I'd like to join.

Okay, okay... I know it looks fancy... well that is because it is... haha... actually it is a really nice county run facility... very family friendly... it has 2 huge pools and an additional outdoor pool for kids (not that I have any)....

It has 2 basketball courts, a full hockey rink, a 1/9th mile lap track and a zillion exercise machines...

I like this gym, a lot... when I was in college I was able to lose a lot of weight by excercising daily at the local YMCA... an hour a every [week]day

Spend $300 and commit to daily exercise? That is a BIG decision... maybe I should just open the $5 30 Shred DVD I bought...

  1. Hi Laura,
    I go to a gym and have been for over 6 years, I use the pool only and to me a gym is really great if you do it, I like the people that you meet that have the same goals in mind, so to me if you use the membership then its worth all the $300.00.

    Take care

  2. It seems like a reasonable price to me. $25 a month is pretty good and maybe investing in it would motivate you to go. Do they have a month to month plan or trial period so you can test it out before you pay the whole fee?

  3. My thoughts? You can't put a price tag on your health. If you can afford it and know you will go and enjoy it - by all means do it. It is better to spend $300 now rather than thousands of dollars down the road on medication or health care costs because we choose not to invest in ourselves today.

  4. Oooh, it looks beautiful!
    I love GOING to the gym and have better success doing that than DVDs...you could always commit to doing the DVDs for a certain time and once you complete that goal get a gym membership as a reward??

  5. that gym does look nice :) I had a gym membershiph for years and am in better shape now that I work out at home. Find what you enjoy and will stick w/ (if its the gym but you use it and enjoy it. Its worth every penny). If you work out at home-get some dvds you like and invest in some dumbbells! Jillian MIchaels is a great pick. I also like The Firm dvds :) good luck!
